Philosophy in the Ottoman and the Republic of Turkey Periods for foreigners (Yabancılar İçin Türkiye ve Osmanlı'da Felsefe Atölyesi)

is pleased to announce its first
ERASMUS+ International “  Philosophy in the Ottoman and the Republic of Turkey Periods for foreigners”, organized in Bursa from the 17th till the 21st of December
2018 (first edition) and from the 20th till the 24th of May 2019 (second
edition)
.



The programme has been designed
for social sciences and humanities researchers from European
universities, especially – but by no means limited to – those interested in
comparative studies on history of ideas
. It will give the participants the
opportunity to acquire new knowledge as well as share their expertise.


The lectures, presentations,
workshops and discussions will revolve around the following thematic areas:

Overview
of traditions emerged during the classical and post-classical period of Islamic
philosophy
Overview of relationship between philosophy and religion before 1908
The second constitutional period and the enlightenment of the philosophical
thought
Period of the republic and the Turkish Enlightenment
Prominent Philosophical Figures: From the past and present


The number of participants is
limited, we recommend therefore that the interested candidates fill in the
attached application form as soon as possible, but not later than 30.11.2018
(first edition) or 30.04.2019 (second edition)


The selection results will be
sent to each participant shortly after the application deadline. Please be
aware that we can allow a maximum 3 (three) representatives from
each institution.
